Nancy Kilmartin, Sr. Program Specialist, Manatee Park (Lee County Parks and Recreation) invited Dennis and Keith out again this year to teach the children about honey, bees, and beekeeping.

Dennis and Keith displayed "live" bees, discussed bee behavior, bee safety,  basic beekeeping hobby, demonstrated equipment use and protective gear, displayed and discussed what is necessary (behind the scenes look)  to produce the honey conveniently found on the shelves of their supermarkets, plus discussed the importance of keeping gentle bees in urban areas to keep the bad bees from taking over and discussed the importance of bees as pollinators responsible for much of the food we eat.

Special thanks to Nancy for another donation to our association and for providing the photos.
