This was our November 2008 GENERAL MEETING with a slight twist.  The twist was that we had our first Pot Luck (Covered Dish) Dinner at start of meeting... and we were in a different, smaller conference room rather than our typical large meeting room.

The turn-out was less than usual, but this made for plenty of extra food for those that attended.  Food and refreshments included:  Watermelon, grapes, fruit, soda, sparkling (non-alcoholic) beverages, pasta salad, potato casserole, desert casserole, fried chicken, Swedish meatballs, shrimp and cocktail sauce, chips, a couple of pies, and more.

There was plenty of fellowship (sharing of beekeeping tales) and off-the-record conversations.

We also gave away a couple of door prizes: A Folding Veil and Beekeeping Book (First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith Delaplane) both were donated by Jerry of Dadant (High Springs, FL):

There will be more door prizes at next meeting.  For more about the business part of the meeting check the MINUTES.

How do I join Beekeepers Association of Southwest Florida (BASF)?  Attend one of our meetings and pay applicable dues to our Treasurer, or you can DOWNLOAD an application for membership, and mail it to our treasurer along with applicable dues.  Currently $10 for current year if you are already a member of the Florida State Beekeepers Association (FSBA).  If you are not a member of FSBA then we can collect membership dues for FSBA as well, in which case the total amount would be $25 ($10 BASF + $15 FSBA).
